Cleaning in Grosse Pointe Woods
ProMaids Co cleans homes in Grosse Pointe Woods, the largest of the five Pointes by population, with about 15,762 people across 3.249 square miles about 12 miles from downtown Detroit. It was incorporated in 1927 under the name Village of Lochmoor and took its present name later. Unlike the Park and the Farms, the Woods is mostly set back from the shoreline, and it is the leafiest of the five.
Being set back from the lake changes what comes through the door. There is less waterfront grit here and more of what a mature tree canopy drops: leaf litter, seed and pollen from spring through autumn. Households near Lake Front Park also bring back chlorine and sand from the swimming complex through the summer.

Questions about cleaning in Grosse Pointe Woods
How much of the Woods do your teams reach?
All of the Woods, from the Mack Avenue corridor through the residential streets around Ghesquiere Park and out to the blocks nearest Lake Front Park.
You are based in Sterling Heights. Do you cover Grosse Pointe Woods?
Yes. The Woods is the northernmost of the five Pointes, which puts it closest to our Sterling Heights base of any of them, and we clean in neighboring Harper Woods and St. Clair Shores on the same routes.
How do you handle the leaf litter in autumn?
We work entryway first and inward. The Woods has the heaviest tree canopy of the five Pointes, so from September onward leaf fragments and seed travel indoors on shoes and pets faster than anything else, and catching it at the door keeps it off the carpet.
Are homes near Lake Front Park and Ghesquiere Park on your list?
They are. Households backing onto Lake Front Park and Ghesquiere Park bring in more grass and grit through side doors than average, so we start those visits at the entryways.
